Greetings!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of Message Media Ed, we would like to thank you for your continued support for our growing program, The Digital Elder Project.
We are so delighted to welcome 16 MORE DIGITAL ELDER GRADUATES into the world to begin mending the global village of the Digital Age! The Digital Elder Project this past weekend was another transformative experience for all involved, including myself and the Digital Elder team.
Here are some QUOTES from our new Digital Elders:
"I have access to much more information than I realized."
"My life was transformed this weekend with my fellow digital elders at this amazing and uplifting experience. I have profound gratitude for the Digital Elder Project and the transformative work of Shani B, Kiera L, Mprvs J, Ayana C, Joanne G.,Robin C. and the amazing village they made into a home for us all."
"Before I became a Digital Elder, I was unaware of the media history as it relates to the African American community, and now that I am a Digital Elder, I am technologically savvy, gained literacy in media knowledge, and I have a responsibility to myself, my community and our youth."
As you know, it takes a village to produce this work, so we'd like to thank the following individuals and organizations:
THE DIGITAL ELDER PROJECT TEAM: Jason "MPRVS" Johnson, Kiera Lewellyn, Joanne Griffith-Poplar, our special guest artist, Ayana Cahrr
SPONSORS: Village Health Foundation, Conscious Flowz, Key Insights, Hobo International, Jane Hannah Media, True Blaq Entertainment & our Youth/Adult Sponsors: Diane Lang, Khalif "Ras Kalif" Williams and Ngozi RA
SPECIAL THANKS to Mrs. Angela Scott-Hill, Director of Los Angeles Urban League West Adams/Baldwin Hills WorkSource Center for providing the space we need to do this work; Mrs. Robin M. Caldwell, Executive Editor of BlackWeb2.0 for sharing your wisdom as our special guest speaker; and Black Women for Wellness for partnering with us to provide free follow-up trainings in technology education.
